Geridion, a helper from the Upper World, slammed the front door of his home behind him in a rage. He and Xama, another helper, had a long-standing dispute about a parcel of land. Geridion emptied a bottle of whiskey into a large glass, shattered the bottle against the wall, then threw himself on the couch in the living room. Several minutes later, he fell asleep.
His rage continued in his dream. A huge, orange beast with red eyes appeared and began chasing him. Every manoeuvre he used to evade the beast failed. He was aware that he was dreaming and tried to shake himself out of it. Finally, he awoke in a pool of sweat. He sat up and buried his face in his hands while he caught his breath. He jumped to his feet when he heard a very familiar growl. He felt like his heart hit the floor when he saw the beast in his living room.
The beast materialized from his dream. This was a new, strange phenomenon helpers began to periodically experience sometime after gaining their powers. These powers grew on the helpers over a period of time from the electromagnetic presence on the Upper World. Geridion burst out of his front door, followed by the beast. He began screaming for help. His knees became weak when the beast duplicated itself. He screamed again, and the two beasts doubled into four creatures.
Globro (the king of the Upper World) and several other helpers materialized some distance away from the beasts. Geridion felt his body dissolving into coloured sparks as he was teleported next to Globro. He explained his dream to the king. Everyone gasped when one of the beasts swung at the air, slicing it. A bright light spewed from the slit, saturating it like water onto a napkin. Globro released several deadly sparks from the head of his glowing sceptre, and the beasts fell to the ground. He waved the sceptre and opened a black hole. As he swirled the rod, the black hole grew larger. He moved it above the beasts then collapsed it, sealing them inside.
The helpers all began moving closer towards the slit. They stopped as the light became too extreme for their eyes, preventing them from seeing any further into the slit. Questions and concerns for safety simultaneously exploded into a loud clamour. Globro ordered them all to be silent. He proclaimed that he would explore the slit by himself since he possessed multiple powers.
Globro entered the rift and found himself in another dimension.
